The Google’s web applications hosting platform is very productive. If you know Python and you want to deploy simple web applications, this tool is very handy. This platform uses the Google infrastructure : BigTable database and GFS file system. Take a look at the presentation video to get an idea. Python should not remain the only development language.
Note that Appcelerator offer to deploy their applications (in Python) on this platform.
